Here are some natural methods in healing stomach ulcer. You can consume a diet rich in fiber, especially insoluble fiber. Try eating lots of cabbage which is a good source of insoluble fiber. Doctors recommend eating at least one serving of steamed cabbage once a day for about two weeks. Apart from rich in fiber, cabbage contains an amino acid, glutamine that has been shown, in some research, to promote the healing of ulcers.
Dont drink coffee, eat spicy food or take asprin and dont smoke.
What you eat may affect your ulcer, but this isnt true for everyone. Certain foods and drinks may be more likely to make your pain worse. These include both regular and decaffeinated coffee, tea, chocolate, meat extracts, alcohol, black pepper, chili powder, mustard seed and nutmeg. You may want to avoid these things if they bother you. But keep your diet balanced. Try eating small, frequent meals when you’re having pain.
Basically, eat small meals and note which foods bother your stomach and avoid them. Everyone is different! What bothers your stomach may not bother someone elses.
Taking antacids can bring temporary relief from stomach ulcers.
If you have tums or gasx it will make it stop hurting. I should know I have the same problem.
Hope it all works out.
ask your Dr. for a proton pump inhibitor like prevacid that can help HEAL your ulcer
Stomach ulcers are usually caused by the H. pylori bacteria, and further irritated by over production of stomach acid but don’t last more than a couple of weeks. I suspect your doc has you on antibiotic for the h.polori antigen. Think of the ulcer as an open sore in your stomach (or esophogus, sm intestine?). To enhance healing, need to try to avoid some foods, as you know, but not as many as you might think. I am surprised your doc didn’t tell you what foods to eat/avoid! Chocolate and caffienated drinks may be irritants, black pepper, chili powder, nutmeg, and of course aspirin and ibuprofen. Years ago, an ulcer would be treated by using 30cc Maalox every two hours, rotated with half and half (about 4oz) in between. Maalox was thought to coat the stomach while decreasing acid production, while Half and Half would coat and soothe the stomach lining. Need to try to minimize stress (easier said than done). Try mashed/baked potatoes instead of the rice, and check out the following site to explore more options. Good luck….
