I got diagnosed with Crohn’s about 9 months ago & the past 6 months I haven’t been taking my medicine b/c its 16 pills a day & my doctor said it wouldn’t prevent the Crohn’s from getting worse. Well today I’m sick & I can’t reach my doctor. I don’t know if I should take my regular medicine (Pentasa) or if I should take the steriod (Entocort) to feel better?
My son is 3 months old and takes zantac for his reflux. He is a silent refluxer so that is “fun”. The zantac seems to help him but lately he has become very fussy and the medicine isn’t working as well. My doctor said that the medicine will need to be adjusted as his weight increases and I think that is our problem. Does anyone know what the dose for a 12 pound baby is? He is currently taking 1ml. Thanks in advance.
This is just a heads up in case you have not yet tried Omega 3. For Tatiana and George here it seems to be producing the best results of any method tried so far. Certainly between December 2008 and Summer 2009 we spent a fortune on this gluten free casein free diet, plus xylitol and all the other things involved in that diet, with no effects either on removing the “offending” foods, nor on returning them to the diet also. The idea that autism is caused by improper digestion of gluten and casein producing some morphine like substances may well be the case for some autistic children, but, it would appear, not ours. However, omega 3 contains as part of it a mild chelative acid, aiding the brain to rid itself of mercury. There is no way to take part of a child’s brain and see if there is mercury in it, the only thing to do is to chelate mildly, and if there is an improvement then the suggestion is that thimerol or other sources of mercury and/or other metals has caused the condition. At the present time the amounts of metal in and around us, through vaccines, through food, even in the air, with the exception of lead which has decreased since unleaded petrol, is much much higher than in previous generations. Even 18 years ago, when there was already a fairly well developed diagnostic apparatus for autism, about 1 in 8000 UK children were born autistic, as the NAS were quoting back then, now it is one in 300. A startling rise. This completely discounts the idea that a gene of …

My son is now a year old and has Severe GERD and he has been puking up whole food for 13 days and constantly has runny stools. I feel helpless and starting to wonder if he has a hiatal hernia that could be stopping him from getting food digested. He hasn’t been able to keep any food in his stomach. I fed him normally with the family last night he eats what we eat that night but he regurgitates it the next morning. I am frustrated and concerned about esophigal damage and weight loss and all I can do is cry. Please help me.
He is under care for this but when he was born he had the same problem and when he was a day old they did an upper gi on him and determined that he had severe acid reflux. Right now he is currently on Raglan and Previcid and has been since 4 months old. The doctor that we first seen when he went for his first doctors visit diagnosed him with GERD and he is the one who put him on the medicine but it seems to be failing him. He is on milk (whole milk) and formula Enfamil with Iron.
