My dog just had puppies last week and has had diarrhea for the last 4 days. I called my Vet and they took a stool sample and said it was fine. He said to give her Kaopectate and see if this helps. Nope, she still has it. Plus I do not want to give her too much medication since her pups will get that too. I am calling the Vet again tomorrow, but thought I would ask now: What else should I try?

I remember seeing an ad on television about two people that went on vacation together, the woman took this medication/supplement and the guy did not. The woman was out enjoying the beach and nightlife, while the man was miserable (diarrhea, vomitting perhaps). It was not imodium, pepto nor kaopectate. What is the medicine/supplement called???

I am taking the knock off of Prozac called flouxitine and am having abdominal pain?
Is this because of the medication? I have only been on it four days. It hapened today and two days ago. It feels like my abdomin is tying to Burst out of me.

The Vet has seen him twice, put him on 2 different antibiotics. While taking the antibiotics, the diarrhea subsides, only to return 36 hours after stopping the medication. The puppy is a Rottweiler, about 13 weeks old, and has been tested for Parvo. We’re worried about him because he is on special food that is gentle for the intestinal system as well, though nothing seems to be working.

This is a serious question ; I am on an antibiotic called clindamyacin; for those of you who know its pretty potent and has some poteltial nasty side effects; I was very sick with a surprise abcess on my chin that welled my face up like i had eggs in my mouth, so I am grateful for it as after 4 days there’s hardly a trace of the nasty infection.
However I’ve had the runs all day fairly frequently and its sore in that area now.
I am this close to taking an immodium or something. The instructions on the paper said mild diarrhea is a known side effect but moderate to severe is different as the medication is known to cause ulcerative colitis while on it or even after taking it.

So, what’s the actual difference clinically between mild and moderate to severe diarrhea?

This is an antibiotic for ear infections. My son is on day 3 of 10 of this stuff and already has mild diarrhea. Dr says to finish the medication and does not have any advice other than giving yogurt, which I do, but it doesn’t help. The symptoms of ear infection are gone. Are there any pro-biotic supplements or anti-diarrheal treatment safe for 5-year old kids? Note that my son is big for his age, he weighs 52lb. Thanks!

I have an upcoming colonoscopy – is there a problem with them sedating me since I’m on subutex? Also, what can my dentist prescribe in the event I have dental pain requiring medication, e.g., abcessed tooth?

I have it and went to the doctor after having abdominal pains. I’m already dehydrated. I have no problems drinking lots of water but I have to keep up with it as long as I have diarrhea and it won’t stop! My doctor won’t let me take medication for the diarrhea. Isn’t the medicatin supposed to stop diarrhea if I have it?

Hi.

I’m in college, and in certain classes I have spastic colon and it makes really loud and embarrassing noises.

I’m pretty sure it’s triggered by anxiety, as it’s not followed up by diarrhea or any of the things attributed with intestinal problems.

I am wondering if I could possible have agoraphobia. I have severe social anxiety every time I leave my apartment, and in classes where I have spastic colon the anxiety is usually caused by a fear that something embarrassing will happen to me–i.e. needing to go to a bathroom and not being able to, saying something stupid, etc. But this anxiety is causing even more embarrassment because my intestines make strange and loud noises during class.

So I guess, a few questions:
* Is it possible I have agoraphobia?
* What’s the difference between agoraphobia and social anxiety?
* How do you prevent your innards from making such weird noises?

HELP!
Thanks to the bottom two. The answerer who recommended the Bible, however… the Bible is xenophobic, misogynist, homophobic, and elitist.

If you’re anything but a white, male, non-handicapped heterosexual who was "lucky" enough to have been born into a culture where Christianity was the dominant religion, I don’t understand how the Bible could do anything but GIVE you anxiety.
P.S. Don’t you think that it’s kind of convenient that your religion offers "solutions" to all of my problems. God gave people brains… God wanted people to use them… those people came up with medication. I would take chemo for cancer, not wait for some kind of answer to drop down from the clouds.
