As gross as it sounds, I have always gotten stomach aches which usually resulted in diarrhea. After going to the bathroom I felt better. Recently, I have noticed that it has gotten much, much worse. Within the past couple of months. I often find myself running to the bathroom at the worst of times. I have diarrhea first thing when I wake up in the morning and all throughout the day, especially after I eat ( ANYTHING) I get these terrible stomach aches and cramps and finally the diarrhea comes and I feel much better for a short time until it is back. I was just researching and found out that I may have a disorder known as Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It sounds like I may have the symtoms. I am going to try to take fibre pills which may help and eventually see a doctor if the problem does not go away. I also may have an ulcer.. I don`t know if that helps any, but please, if you have any tips or suggestions, let me know!

I have tried "Charcocaps Homeopathic formula"and "Digestive Advantage" pills for IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Anybody try something that turned out to be effective?
Yea, I’ve got acidophelus too.

I have looked up the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, but this is not it! it’s basically stomach blowing up a bit after eating meals, n some uncomfortable feeling as if u need to "pooh" to feel normal again..this is different than irritable bowel syndrome in that u do not continuesly feel as if u need to use the bath room, it’s just an uncomfortable feeling, after eating meals that prevents an individual from getting up n going around as s/he would normally would. The symptoms go away after about 2 to 3 hours after the meal has been eaten.

I know that eating whole grain will help lower the bad cholesterol, but for my sister who has Irritable Bowel Syndrome (whenever she eats whole grain, she gets diarrhea.), she has to stick with her white bread diet. At the same time her bad cholesterl is way too high. IAre there other ways to lower the bad cholesterol?

I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and I am an active runner. What breakfast should I eat before the run can prevent me from constantly putting gas and going to the bathroom. This is embarrasing but I found that if I get everything out of my system I will be left with no energy to run…. A good run is uplifting and I will be even more upset if I can’t run….please help me out here. Thanks!

Ever since I was little I’ve had problems with digestion. I originally thought it was lactose-intolerance, and my GP told me to take Lactaid pills. They worked at first, probably psychologically, then stopped working and was still having frequent discomfort.

Now that I’m 19 years old and Still having problems, I found a gastroenterologist. He scheduled me for bloodwork and a colonoscopy. Today he did my scope, but he hasn’t seen the blood work yet. He says my colon looks fine and suspects I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. However when I looked up the symptoms for Celiac disase, I have all the symptoms except for osteoporosis, which my mother has. ( We both have digestive issues, as well my her brother/my uncle) I’m almost positive that’s what I have just basing it off that, but my doctor says I’ve been looking at the internet too much, and that what the internet says is Wrong… Has anyone been in a similar situation?? IS the internet, in fact, a Bad reference, even though Every website has the same symptoms listed??? Help!

I was recently diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) by my gastroenterologist. Can anyone out there who also has IBS can give me some advice as to what I can do to improve my symptoms? Do probiotics work? Fiber supplements? Something else? Any and all advice is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi, there.

I have severe social anxiety/phobia, but only in crowded classrooms. Because my intestines/colon are uber-sensitive, I start having irritable bowel syndrome/spastic colon in classroom-settings, I’m sure because of the stress/anxiety I feel when I’m there.

Unfortunately, this feeling of pressure makes it seem as though I have to go to the bathroom… probably gives me gas… and makes my intestines make embarrassing noise which increase the anxiety. It’s a vicious cycle.

What preventative measures can I take? I don’t want to rely on medication. I want to find a way to stop the problem. The problem has nothing to do with being constipated either. If anything, it’s the opposite of that.

I’m not sure if the feeling of nervousness makes me feel like I have to go to the bathroom, or if feeling like I have to go to the bathroom makes me nervous. I’m not even sure why I’m afraid I won’t be able to hold it–I haven’t had an "accident" since I was a child!!!

Help, please???!!!
