PANAJI: Health minister Vashwajit Rane ordered suspension of a doctor from Goa Medical College and hospital on Saturday morning for operating a patient in a private hospital, but later kept the suspension order in abeyance, pending an inquiry. Amidst reports that the GMC’s head of the surgery department Dr Dilip Amonkar had operated Raveena Rodrigues, a 16-year-old girl who died in GMC on July 29, a fortnight after she was admitted in a private hospital, the Rane issued an order to suspend the doctor. However, he later kept the order in abeyance. A government doctor can’t do private practice. But in this case Dr Amonkar had operated the minor in a private hospital in Vasco. “Yes, I had issued instructions to suspend Amonkar but later decided to keep it in abeyance till we get the factual position in the case. We need to investigate into two aspects of the case: One, whether the doctor had acted on humanitarian grounds to save the girl’s life after he received a call for help from his former student who is now running a hospital in Vasco or whether it was done for monetary gains,” said Rane. “Action definitely will be taken in the case. But before taking action, one must verify all the aspects of the case. A doctor from GMC can’t go to a private hospital to operate, but if he went there, it is important to know why he went there in the first place,” said Rane. I was diagnosed with IBS…but no tests were done to rule out other things. They just quickly examined me….what do you think about it?
Had it about 7 years now.
I have had every test in the book, now they want me to have a MRI and Cat Scan. The docs dont know what is going on w/ me. I was first diagnosed with Nash hepatitus, then they said I had a diseased gallbladder and removed it, I am still very sick, w/ nausea and vomiting. I have a whole list of symptoms. The doc said maybe it was Cyclic vomiting syndrome. And he said that all of these things are probably all separate illnesses. Should I see another doctor, b/c to me it seems like maybe I have an autoimmune disease, but he did test for autoimmune diseases and disorders. I am so frustrated. I have had biopsies, blood tests, an egd, biliary scans, gastric radioactive scans, ultrasounds, and now he wants to order an MRI, cat scan, and small bowel follow through test. I dont know what to do. I didnt have any of these problems till right after I had my twin girls. Can anyone relate to my problems? Any advice?
