Rodney from learn-about-crohns.blogspot.com. I ate some bad things today, fast food, and I am now feeling the effects. I want to know what you all eat to stay healthy, and what things you just can’t give up. Thanks. Don’t forget to subscribe to my video and my blog.
I call myself The Fruitarian and my diet – Fruitarianism because most of my calories come from fruit. I do eat greens as well as well the occasional root vegetable and coconuts from time to time. In my food choices I try to follow my cravings and my instincts. I also pay a close attention to how different foods make me feel and how they affect my body and my performance. I don’t eat any foods out of fear of deficiencies — either mineral or caloric. I eat what I enjoy eating, what I crave the most, and what makes me feel good. I think it is very important not to become too obsessed with perfection of just one factor in your health program — such as your diet — striving for 100% fruit or 100% organic. While a certain degree of dedication is necessary during the transition period , once you are ‘out of the woods’ – you need to switch your focus to pursuing other things in life that you are passionate about. thefruitarian.com
How much are we spending on healthcare to treat diet-caused illnesses?
From the book Eat To Live by Joel Furhmen, MD:
..”People are completely unaware that most illnesses are self-induced and can be reversed with aggressive nutritional methods. …The medical-pharmaceutical business has encouraged people to believe that health problems are hereditary and that we need to swallow poisons to defeat our genes. This is almost always untrue.
“…My clinical experience over the past ten years has shown me that almost all the major illnesses that plaque Americans are reversible with aggressive nutritional changes designed to undo the damage caused by years of eating a disease-causing diet. ….These conditions…can be effectively prevented or treated through superior nutrition. As their medical problems gradually melt away, patients can be slowly weaned off the medications they have been prescribed.”

“Not only are common disorders such as asthma associated with increased body weight and our disease-causing diet, but in my experience these diseases are also curable with superior nutrition in the majority of cases. Asthma is an exampleof a disease considered irreversable that I watch resolve regularly. My patients routinely make complete and *predictable* recovery from these illnesses, predominantly through aggressive dietary changes. …Diseases that are considered irreversible I see reversed on a daily basis.”

So I been on a new diet from my regular fried food and fast food to lean meat, veggies and fresh fruit.. Is that normal when you change to an healthy diet with a more rigorous workout to lose weight?
So I’m sick of taking tums in mass quantities all the time. I know my heartburn usually comes from drinking too much coffee, and sometimes I am more successful at restraining myself.
I don’t like taking medications like Zantac or Pepcid…I am looking for a soothing drink that would help my throat/chest.
Also, what foods should I definitely avoid to reduce acid reflux?
Papayas in South East Asia are so delicious and sweet. They make for an excellent breakfast. This is a quick recipe for a rewarding meal.
