A video exercise in which we utilize a 360 degree camera pan with no sound in 45 seconds. When first seeing the boy sitting on the toilet, the viewer immediately tries to draw conclusions about the boy. “He is in a bathroom.” “He must be constipated.” “He is drunk.” “Wait, why are his pants still on?” etc. The camera then begins to move away from the boy, passing over various objects along the way. As the viewer travels through the confines of the bathroom, a narrative is weaved in the viewer’s mind; when the camera comes back to the boy on the toilet, their original perception of the boy has been changed.
