I have had a stomach ache for about 4 days now. I got it saturday night. It calmed down but now today and last night its horrible… Its kinda like stomach cramps but its like stomach ache and pain too… Help?

I was chatting with a medical doctor at a recent dinner party. He said that most of his patients have delusional disorders, therefore he can do nothing for them other that suggest they seek psychiatric counseling. I disagreed with most of the illnesses he mentioned – fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, restless legs, attention deficit, apnea, lupus, irritable bowels, Guillain-Barre and morgellons. Are any of these conditions actually considered delusional by the AMA?

Asking for a friend. Apparently she has had stomach pains to the point of crying for arounf 4 months. Should she see a doctor? What could it be? And anything to help in the short-term?
Also it happens to her right after she eats most times.

Its really annoying and only happens when I eat certain things. It makes me want to burp constantly and each burp “something” (acidic like) comes up w/ it, interrupting a full burp and leaves me w/ pain in my chest. It also makes me nauseous when that stuff comes up. What to do to cure it?

I am a 14 year old just diagnosed with IBS. I need to know what foods I can eat and which foods will make me feel worse. I like to bake and I’d like to know what ingridients to stay away from. If anyone has any info it would really help me a lot. Thanks so much.

I’m fed up. I have a urologist, neurologist, gastroenterologist, internist, orthopedist, rheumatologist, gynecologist and an acupuncturist… and I’m only 25 years old. My doctors are all dumbfounded but are having fun trying to diagnose me. I’m fed up though and tired of being in pain. Please help.

My blood and urine tests come up fine, aside from a high calcium level, but only at 13.2. My CRF is low… so it’s apparently not an inflammation problem. My Xrays are fine, aside from “insignificant” scoliosis (3 curves). My MRI results show an “insignificant” hernia in my neck and “insignificant nerve degeneration” in my L1 and L2 discs.

My doctors suspect endometriosis, spastic colon (IBS), interstitial cystitis, and a non-inflammatory rheumatological disorder.

I have pain… and lots of it. I have pain in my female organs, my intestines, my bladder, my rectum, my joints, my head and my skin. It varies from dull and constant aching to sharp shooting pain.

Bladder- It hurts and feels very uncomfortable. It makes me have to urinate frequently. Just yesterday I peed over 20 times… 2-3 times per hour, sometimes more…. and I only drank one glass of water. I generally drink a lot of water, but on days like this, I try not to because it just makes it worse or so it seems. This pain and frequent urination comes and goes randomly. It’s made worse by tea and coffee. No cystoscopy yet because I was told that even if it was IC, there’s nothing much to do about it.

Joints- They hurt and are stiff almost every morning, but that also comes and goes randomly. When this happens I usually can’t do much of anything for at least 2 hours… usually more. This affects every single one of my joints. Can’t grip things too well and it feels like my hands are swollen, though they aren’t. In addition to that, I’m freakishly flexible (I can push my thumb forward and touch my arm easily)… so much so that my shoulder and hips pop out of socket frequently (or feel that way) and OUCH, that hurts! Aside from the morning problems I have the most joint pain in my shoulders, hips and knees. In the last 2 years this has been worse, but I can remember these types of problems since I was young. Doctors said I had “growing pains” but those pains are still here… grrr.

Muscles- Strong stabbing pain and shooting pain. Happens in random muscles at random times.

Head- Headaches in certain small points on my head: my temples, top left and right corners of the back of my head and bottom left and right corners of the back of my head. This usually happens in ONE of these points at a time, never on both sides.

Jaw- Ouch. I wake up and my jaw hurts like hell. My dentist says I’ve been grinding my teeth. On top of that my jaw gets random shooting and aching pains from time to time that don’t seem to be related with grinding my teeth.

Face- I’ve had several staph infections on my face: eyebrows, chin and jaw line.

Ears- Ouch. Lots of random inner ear pain that comes and goes randomly, sometimes radiates down through the side of my neck. Sometimes I have ringing in my ears. Also, ears are super sensitive to wind and cold (even barely cool weather).

Neck- neck pain and soreness at the back of my neck. Frequent “cricks in the neck” since childhood”. Sometimes when I make a particular slight movement with my neck to look up and I lean my head back a bit, I get TERRIBLE pain coming from the top of my neck/base of my skull that radiates upward around the base of my skull. When this happens everything goes BLACK for a second. The pain from this is so strong it can hurt for a good 30 minutes. After happening it can happen again very easily. Also, strong pinching pain in 2 locations on the front of my neck, on either side of my throat (on the outside of my neck, not deep inside). I also get this pinching sensation in my thighs in 2 specific locations.

Back- lower back pain, pain between my shoulder blades. I hate massages though because it hurts when people poke me with their fingers. If I do get a massage it has to be with one’s flattened palm.

GI- abdominal and pelvic pain (cramping, stabbing, radiating, throbbing, electrical, shooting, dull and aching pain), lots of gas, shooting rectal pain, constipation, diarrhea, mucus in stool, daily morning cramps with TERRIBLE pain (like severe menstrual cramps) that has me curled up in a ball squirming around (relieved after going to the bathroom).

…That’s not all… see comments
Random weird stuff- burning rectangular patches of skin (no rash, just burning sensation) that lass from 2 hours to several days. It hurts more when I touch it, when my clothes rub up against it or when a veryyyyyy slight breeze blows over it. It BURNS like a real burn. It happens randomly with no pattern. It can show up on my arms, thights, butt, hips, abdomen, love handles and back. In addition, I randomly get tingling sensations in my fingers, hands, feet and toes. This comes and goes randomly.

Sleep- When I wake up from a nap I feel like I’ve been beat up with a baseball bat. My entire body hurts. Sometimes this happens when I wake up from a full night’s sleep. On top of that I feel TERRIBLE because my heart is fluttering. Family and friends have put their head on my chest and felt it themselves. In fact, it was a friend who noticed it first, not me.

Other- I get sick easily and I usually get fevers when I’m sick. Those fevers are TERRIBLE because my entire body burns like I’m
…on fire.

Oh, and I also black out during roller coasters. I didn’t used to, but in the past few years half way through every ride I black out for a minute or so and just dangle there with my head flopping to the side (or so my friends say).

Please help. I’m tired of spending thousands of dollars on doctors who can’t help me. I’ve seen just about every specialist I can think of and that I’ve been referred to. This Thursday I have a sleep study with a neurologist… we’ll see how that goes. My rheumatologist suggested it. I just want to be well again. I’m tired of being sick, in pain and feeling like I’m 80 years old. I’m only 25 years old!

I went to the doctor yesterday, she done some test but still could not pen point the pain in my stomach

I took the Prilosec OTC for 14 days and everything was better. I even went in for blood work to test for the H. pylori bacteria that can cause ulcers. Came back negative. But I am still feeling the same pain that I felt when I first had the ulcer. Does anyone know whats going on with me?

I have gerd and have just started tablets for it, I have a burning achy pain in my left rib, sometimes when I twist it hurts more, is this possible?

Im an almost 26 year old male that has been suffering from depression and anxiety since 22-23 due to the loss of sister and father and was prescribed the medication Celexa which is an anti-depressant. I noticed in 2010 while I was stressed prior to my father’s passing I had an increase in bowe movements. It seemed as though for months the frequency from my regular once a day or once every other day changed to 2 or 3 times daily for months. In January of 2011 my general doctor diagnosed me as having Irritable Bowel Syndrome considering I was only 25 and had no family history of colon or colorectal cancer-just my sister who had Ovarian Cancer. He did no diagnostic testing I showed him a picture of a stool sample and he immediately said its spastic colon(IBS)-I also noticed diarreah when under heavy stress or emotional stress which I live in a very streasful environment. I was mot losong weight or anemic and did not have bloody stools just sticky foul smelling stools and flatulence and a poor diet with 2 years of a sedentary lifestyle mixed with anxiety. In January I started having panic attacks and anxiety attacks-I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder with agoraphobia and Anxiety and hypochondria. I suffered for a year and in Feb of 2011 was prescribed tranquilizers , 20 mg of Valium after trying Ativan which caused a lot of side effects. After this my
Bowel habits went back to normal frequency-stil messy but normal frequency. I began tapering down the Valium an it was rough. Made it down to 13.5 mg and have been holding since August of 2011 and in and out of work after panic attacks-but episodes where I would feel energy in my legs and lightheaded and dizzy and feel like I was going to lose control of my
body. So in January of 2012 I complaines to my GP a chronic complaint of chest muscle tenderness which had been going on since February of 2011. The doctor forwarded me
to a rheumatologist for evaluation. Upon a comprehensive blood analysis and urine colection over 24 hours and urinalysis-(I also had Chronic Fatigue issues) there was a little bit if protein in my urinalysis and my bloodwork was completely normal including CBCs to check for cancerous type activity all came back normal-only thing was I was normal but borderline high in a phosphate protein that is an auto-immunity that can cause clots if it becomes high but they said it was at a normal level ans then my vitamin D score was extremely deficient-7.53 when it should be 35-50 or even 100. I told them I didnt get out much for sunlight or natural Vitamin D and didnt drink a lot of dairy like milk. Combined with a bad diet I think that caused the deficiency. Anyways, the rheumy prescribed me 50,000 UI of Vitamin D for once per week for 8 weeks. Week 1 I felt great. Week 2, gastrointestinal discomfort started. It started as gas pains and flaulence an then week 3 before dosing I conplained about an onset of constipation and straining to go to the bathroom and the rheumy told me
To stop. Now I’ve read that Vitamin D can cause constipation-and I took a lot-100,000 UI over 2 week period but after ceasing the Vitamin D for over a month I have a
Constant feeling of full bowel, passed one flat stool and a bloody stool, have rotating diarreah and constipation, abdominal cramping, gas pains, flatulence, back pain, knee pain-basically all the symptoms of colon or colorectal cancer which is terrifying me. My GP insists that its IBS and with the lack of anemia and normal blood counts and having a normal lower abdominal CT Scan which would pick up colon or abdominal tumors or cancer that I’m just having a bad reaction to the Vitamin D and potentially may have a fissure or something in a bad place in my rectum where it may be causing the sensation to go. Im gonna get a colonoscopy and an upper endoscopy to be safe but am I over reacting? Do my doctors sound correct? This stuff didnt start until after the Vitamin D but it seems chronic now. Any thoughts? My Gastroenterologist said to relax and with no anemia and normal CBC and CT Scan hes gonna do a scope and check for Chrons or tears or fissures but I’m still paranoid. Anyone with similar problems or have any input? Im still regular with bowel movemts but stools are small and pale colored. Im also still on Valium-someone please give some feedback it is much appreciated!
