My father had a colonoscopy done last month and this past week a cat scan showed that he had developed diverticulitis. [he had unexplained abdominal pain on his left side] Since it was diagnosed, others that we know have said that it happened to them or someone that they know as well. Now, we are wondering how common it is.
He has been put on two different antibiotics for this condition and hopefully that will take care of it. The pain that he was in is much better already. Thank you all for your concern and your answers.

I have one scheduled for next Thursday, I have been having terrible abdominal pain. They did an endoscopy and it was a breeze. I have never had one and am very, very frightened.

im having a lot of abdominal pain under my pantie line and its really sore, i know its not because of sex because i haven’t had sex in about 3 weeks..i thought i was having this pain because i had to use the bathroom but i forced myself to poop and that didn’t help the pain go away. when i was 32 weeks pregnant i already started to have Braxton Hicks contractions and was opened 1cm. what could this pain possibly mean?

ok i was suppose to start my cycle on the 15th i took a pregnancy test on the 15th it came back negetive but i have yet to get my cycle but i have been having abdominal pain for these last six days

I was diagnosed with IBS a few years back and was taking Zelnorm. To be honest, Zelnorm didn’t do much for me. I still had constipation and bloating (I am in constant pain and the doctors say nothing, I just came to the realization that I will have to live with the pain the rest of my life). I was told that wearing panty hose helps with some abdominal pain and pressure. I have been trying it on and off for the past few months and it makes all my symptoms WORSE. Everytime I wear anything tight, I seem to get even MORE bloated. It feels as if my body is pushing BACK on the clothes. On the days I wear loose clothing, I don’t experience this problem. I am in a fairly conservative industry and all the ladies are required to wear panty hose (I will switch to thigh highs and if anyone has a problem they can shove it up their who-who). Is there any correlation between waering panty hose and abdominal pain? Could I have something severe? My Dr’s tell me NOTHING

Hi all this year around january i had some strong abdominal pain( upper right) it would last hours and the pain would get stuck and i would not be able to breath in. Then i had it 2 days later. then i had it the following week alittle.. so i went to doc to check, he thought it was gallbladder problems sent me to imaging tests, turns out everything is normal. i also had blood tests and were normal.

then i changed my diet eliminating milk. no more meat( just sometimess) no junk food. it got better from that time up to now, i had been fine.

But then this week ( May 2006) i’m having pain there again. this time is not so sharp and i can breath-in, but i have it.. and it seems like a bit higher than the place it was before.

Anyways, what can this be, if docs say i’m fine? what should i do now?

I am 31 weeks pregnant and a couple of weeks ago when ever I had sex with my fiance and he ejaculated in me, I would have this horrible abdominal pain that would feel like if i was having contractions since it takes the area of my ovaries and my lower back and it comes and goes irregularly but gets stronger each time. I was wondering if it was normal since it happens each time and usually at night and lasts for the whole night and then I do not stop urinating the whole night but still having pain.

It doesn’t happen every morning but at least 5 days out of the week, i have bad abdominal pain then i have to poop. Today i had the abdominal pain which i had to poop 2 seperate times and the second time there was blood in the stool and when i wipe. What could this be from?
