I was on the depo shot for 3 years. I kept missing my dates, so I stop getting them for about 8 months. I started again in May/2008. As of today, I still haven’t had my period. I’ve had bad gas and constipation as well as abdominal pain for almost 2 weeks. I think I may be pregnant.

I have had bowel problems most of my life (flat stool, blood, cramps) 4 years ago at 22 I went for a colonoscopy and they found 1 small 1mm size polyp which turned out to be an adenoma. So I went back a year later and was clean. They said I have a spastic colon and hemmorhoids and come back in 3 years. It has been 3 years and I am terrified to go back. My symptoms are a little worse than before. Is it possible to have colon cancer 3 years after a clean colonoscopy at my age?

I know there’s no magic answer, but I can’t determine whether to put Sonny to sleep. He’s an 11-year-old orange tabby with Irritable Bowel Disorder (IBD). There’s no cure; basically he’s had diarrhea daily for almost 3 years. We’ve tried lots of things (not everything), but steroids, diet changes, antibiotics, etc. and nothing helps long term.

Lately he did really well with 9 Lives Tuna mixed with pumpkin – he actually had normal stools for the first time in years. But now he won’t eat that food anymore. His weight is down to 6.5 pounds (skin and bones) from original weight of 11.5 pounds.

For the past week he hasn’t felt well, and the IBD causes stomach pains before the diarrhea (and the diarrhea is painful too; if you’ve ever had it, you know). When I don’t feed him, he’s pain-free, but hungry and constantly begging for food/meowing/crying. It’s a vicious cycle. I have tried diet changes recently but they only add to the diarrhea.

He stopped playing with toys years ago.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years and are both 20, and for a year he has known about my IBS. We’re VERY close, I can tell him anything, even all the gory details! He’s brilliant and listens to me moan and rubs my stomach for me…..however something he said to me tonight has made me think that he is supportive up until it puts him out. He’s trying to make me stay over at his house tomorrow (which I wouldn’t give a second thought to if it was just him, but he still lives with his parents I’m embarrassed in case I’m ill and his parents realise). As fellow IBS-sufferers will realise, staying over at someone’s house is a big thing and I don’t feel mentally up to it tomorrow. I explained to him honestly how I felt and he said it’s ridiculous, and that I just use it as an excuse to get out of things I don’t want to do. It’s really upset me :( how can I explain to him the condition more clearly? I’ve obviously done something wrong.

I have had IBS for 3 years. If I did not have kids I would cut out my own colon. I’m that desperate. I have eliminated everything from my diet. (I survive on toast only and yes i eliminated toast for over a week so it can’t be that.) I want to find a doctor to give me a colostomy. My kids are 8, 6, and 4 year old twins. Don’t blame the kids. I wonder if the ob did something wrong when the twins were born by c-section because my back hurt for a year after they were born. As soon as my back stopped hurting my IBS started. I have tried everything, medicines, natural remedies nothing works. I have given up on doc’s. Don’t say it’s stress. IBS is my only stress factor. I’m happy and calm as long as I’m not spending the day in the bathroom. By the way I have diarrhea about 5 days a month. (down fron 20 two years ago) and I’m never constipated. Please help.

I had a colonoscopy done 3 years ago, they went in through the rectum, I had a friend tell me that I should get an endoscopy where they go in through the mouth, I asked if this would reach my colon and he said yes, is this true too?
