What type of steroid will the doctor prescribe me?
I’ve been loosing weight dangerously for 9months and also have unbearable stomach pains,cramps, spasms etc. I have a spastic colon as welll. It is hard for me to eat . So I have several reasons why my doctors are considering steroids.What type of steroids might my doctor prescibe?

Usually Prednisone is prescribed, depending on how they plan on treating you it can be long term or a short dose where you take 6 the first day, then 5, then 4, etc until 0 and it usually works well, but with a chronic condition such as yours it may be for a longer time period.
I would look up prednisone on the net and get info on it, you may experience weight gain and your appetite will increase as well as your blood sugar may get elevated, it will help you to understand what is going on with your body, but I have to say from your symptoms steroid therapy may be the best thing for you if only temporary.
