what could cause a dog to vomit and have diarrhea?
My dog is 3 years old, up to date on shots and heartworm preventive. She NEVER goes to the bathroom in the house, but while I was gone to work today, she urinated, vomited, and had diarrhea. She doesn’t appear to be ill, but that doesn’t mean anything I guess.
The body vomits (expells stuff ) that is bad or causing upset to the dog, same with humans.
Diarreah is also another way the body expells unwanted stuff that is bad for the dog, same as in humans.
There could be a bacterial infection, so do take your dog to the vet.
Diarreah and vomiting are not good signs. They are a very clear indication, that your dog is not well.
Just as in humans they can very quickly have weight loss and dehydrate and could die if left without seeing a vet.
No idea. Take her in and have her checked.
There’s a long list of things it could be. The most likely is that she ate something she shouldn’t have.
You can try fasting her tonight and giving her a tablespoon of canned pumpkin (not spiced pie filling). Then tomorrow morning, give her another spoonful of pumpkin and make her a meal of boiled white rice and either chicken or lean hamburger – that’s easy to digest.
But if she’s still got diarrhea and is vomiting, she needs the vet. Or if she stops drinking or acts sick, she needs to be seen and diagnosed.
My dog has had diarreah the since we got him but then we found out it was the treats we gave him,Since hes to young and couldnt digest them since hes only 2 months old.and dogs under 6 months could not have them.
Maybe your dog got into something
And dogs can get the Doggie flu a lot of dogs get it
I hope your doggy get better
It could be a number of things. Only tests and a vet can be a determining factor.
