What can I do for diarrhea while pregnant?
I am 5.4wks pregnant and have diarrhea. What can I do or take for it?
Oh god the joys of pregnancy I had this problem so often with my first son. I was told to drink Milanta but I would suggest getting in touch with your doctor and finding out if it’s safe for you. Make sure you drink a lot of water and stay hydrated and rest A LOT!! I had it real bad once and my muscles hurt so bad the next day and it was all due to dyhadration so take care.
Don’t laugh…but pedialyte.
It has electrolytes is designed to replace fluids and minerals that are lost when a child has diarrhea with or without vomiting. This also works for adults.
You aren’t supposed to take anything until after 12 weeks (then you can take Immodium). I had so many problems with diarrhea in my 1st trimester (all those freaking hormones) and I just had to wait it out. You can try a bland, BRAT diet for a few days. That’s bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. Avoid eating too many fruits or juices also because they can have a laxative effect.
drink alot of water to stay hydrated and u can take emetrol, u can get it at walgreens for about $10, or u can get the off brand for around $7. it helps w nausa also if u need it for that too. good luck but drink plenty of fluids!
