My daughter has diarrhea, how often should I change her at night?
My two year old daughter has diarrhea and a mild fever. I’ve brought her to doctor and doctor said it was probably caused by some virus infection, and that i should not be too worried yet.
She will pass very runny stool very often. When she sleeps she’ll have diarrhea even while she tries to sleep, how often should I wake her up to change her? To avoid diaper rashes.
I would change her every time she has a bowel movement. She will not sleep for long in a dirty diaper so I wouldn’t worry too much about disturbing her. Also, it gives you the opportunity to give he sips of water.
Why is a two year old still in diapers?
i would say 2-4 hours?……..two years old, she should be able to go back to sleep if you wake her.
ps..please make sure you are giving her pedialyte too to help with the dehydration.
I would wake her at least every two hours at a minimum and use a really good barrier cream or Vaseline all over her bottom at every change to try to minimize irritation. I hope she feels better soon!!
Just use desitin or something like that to avoid a rash, I would let her sleep as much as possible to help fight off the bug. Make sure that when she is awake she gets plenty of fluids, dehydration is the biggest concern for a child with diarrhea.
You should change her as soon as she has finished, the trouble with loose stools they can burn their skin, when my twins has a viral infection my daughter had broken skin it was terrible it was sore for so long, i would clean with mild wipes or warm water and use a Vaseline to put a barrier on the skin
as often as possible, but i know thats hard to do at night so try to every time you wake up. this is probably hard to do with a two year old that isnt waking you up every 2 or 3 hours to feed. put desitin during the night or any other moisture barrier cream you prefer to avoid rashes.
