My 2.5 yr old has had diarrhea for the past three days. What can I do to get it to stop?
I am not sure what is causing it. Nothing has changed in his diet, but he just continues to have diarrhea and now his little heiny is getting sore.
What to do?
Thanks! We are still trying to potty train so, he is pooping in the potty sometimes, but it seems to catch him off guard most of the time over the past 2 days so, he does in his training pants. poor boy.
then put diapers on the poor kid. use vaseline every time you change him. like cream and powder combined it treats an prevents rashes. give him pedialite. call your doc for tips, if it doesnt go away by a certain time theyll ask to see him. basically the tubing is bruised or damaged which causes diareah
First off use wipes not toliet paper if he is toliet trained wipes will be much more gentle. Get him drinking lot’s of liquids – mostly water or PediaLyte. Stay away from milk as it can just make diarrhea worse.
Put him on the BRATY deit.
B-Banans
R-Rice
A-Applesauce – I’m sure apples would work too.
T-Toat (whole grain is best)
Y-Yogurt
This has always worked for my baby/toddler. Stay away from acidic foods that will hurt his skin from the poop if he is not potty trained.
My one year old has the same problem now. he had it once before. the doctor said the pro-biotic in his stomach was gone do to antibiotics for and ear infection, Maybe the same for your son if so give him ACTIVA yogurt it contains active and life cultures that will replace the good bacteria in his stomach. and like the doctor say keep the off of sweets and only give the clear fluids
