Is it normal to have diarrhea three to four times everyday?
Someone in my family has constant diarrhea and it’s painful. He uses the bathroom at least 3 – 4 times a day and sometimes even late at night when he should be sleeping. I know that having bowel movements daily is normal, but this is way beyond normal. I’ve mentioned to him to visit our family doctor, but he doesn’t want to and doesn’t think too much of it. I’m not sure if it has to do with his eating habits or if he really has some kind of stomach bug / virus. Please help!
Having diarrhea for extended periods of time is nt only uncomfortable but dangerous!!! He is most likely dehydrated and even malnourished. This could even be a symptom of bowel cancer so you should scare into having a doctor check it out!!!
There seems to be a possible problem. Unless, he is addicted to Taco Bell. Thats a definite cause.

tell him to lay off the coffee, lay off the fiber, and eat more cheese. Other than that, go to the doctor.
or it could be what he’s eating. I know a friend that ate dairy and it would mess him up, it could be many other things aswell.
It´s not really normal to excrete in a normal manner as such 3-4 times daily, let a lone diarrhea.

my dad seems to have diarrhea everytime he poops because i can hear it and its gross! i dont think its normal at all but he has had it ever since i can remember so it might just be something he eats too…but he should go to the doctor and be sure
If this has been going on for a long time, he could be intolerant of something he eats regularly or he could have an intestinal condition.
He could be lactose, fructose, or sucrose intolerant. Those are most common.
He could also be in the early stages of ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, or irritable bowel syndrome. These conditions can get serious, he should definitely be checked out!
it is seriously not a joke,go visit a doctor. fenugreek with curd is a homemade recipe for diarrhea.
um there is something wrong with him seriously….. to get diarrhea at all means youve got a bug. so take him to see the doctor!
No, it isn’t. I think you know that already, but convincing him to see a doctor may be difficult. Is he older? I see older people who don’t like going to the doc for this kind of thing. Maybe he is embarrassed? Maybe you could offer to drive, and go with him.
Maybe he has an undiagnosed lactose intolerance.
Have him stop eating dairy and see what happens.

He is losing electrolytes each time he goes.
Has he tried Imodium AD?
That works pretty good.
If this is going on more than one day he might have to go to hosp and get an IV with potassium in it.
It’s not normal. He should see a doctor and get that checked out. Pain is an indication that something is very wrong. Maybe it is just a bug, but it could be something else.
My father had near constant diarrhea. He too used to get up at night to go. He too thought it would go away. He finally went to see someone when things got worse. His diarrhea had turned bloody and he had lost a lot of weight. He had colon cancer. If he had gone to the doctor much sooner, he would probably be alive today.
