I have Diarrhea every evening, but I am not on any medications, how do I get it to stop?
So for the last two months I have been having diarrhea almost every evening, no matter what I eat during the day. I am not on any medication, so that can’t be the cause. I have taken some antidiarretic, but that doesn’t always help. And sometimes I have the diarrhea through out the night, so I don’t get very good sleep. What could it be? And how do I stop it?
It may be the water you are drinking. Try and make a list of foods that you eat during the day and do this for about a week. Also record how bad/often these symtoms occur and at what time. Then at the end of the week you should be able to back track it to what you ate. However if it is everynight, I just assume it is something you are drinking unless you eat the same thing everyday. But most importantly, if you can’t trace it back to a food/drink you are intaking, then seek medical attention.
Try drinking a ton of water throughout the day. If that doesn’t work than get medical help.
keep a journal of what you are eating and drinking each day for 2 weeks, it must be something there that is causing it.
Also, goggle diarrhea, or look at webmd.com and perhaps it will give you an idea of the causes…….
good luck
You need to be seen by a Doctor.
There are several GI problems that can cause you to have to have a bowel movement at night (which as I understand it is not normal) and you are admitting that anti diarrhetic’s aren’t helping always.
If it is a disease, then most likely what you are eating through out hte day is creating the problem but, it is hard to pin down.
For instance, I have Crohn’s Disease and if i eat veggies that are too raw or Nuts or fruit with seeds in it, then it will give me Diarrhea but, it took months for my gut to calm down enough to figure out what was makeing me sick. At my worst…it will just seem like food makes me sick.
So go be checked out.
Well, some people have chronic problems of no known cause [idiopathic colonitis]. A simple remedy is to take Immodium once in the mornings, and see if that restores things to normal. You can take this over many years, without problems. Just take it every day, and eventually the bowel will stop its daily spasm when solids enter into it.
Definetly go see a doctor.
You should probably consult your doctor on this one to make sure there are no underlying causes of it.
Every time you have loose bowel movement, you should take an electrolyte drink such as Hydrite (1 tablet mixed in 8 oz of water) to replace the electrolytes lost like Potassium. You only need to drink 2 – 3 oz every time you defecate until the bowel movement goes back to normal.
Also try eating foods like banana, apples or yams to harden the bowel. To know what causes your diarrhea, get a sample of your stool and have it examined in a laboratory. If there’s something wrong, then bring the lab result to your doctor so he can give you the proper medication.
