Does morning sickness always have to be vomiting or can it be diarrhea?
I am 4 weeks pregnant and have never been pregnant before but everyone is telling me about morning sickness and I noticed when I wake up I don’t feel well to my stomach but I don’t vomit I end up having diarrhea and then feeling fine. Can that still be morning sickness?
I wouldn’t doubt it – at all, really.
So much we hear about ‘Morning Sickness’ has to do with vomiting almost exclusively, but I’m already in my 18th week and haven’t thrown up once…BUT, I’ve definitely been sick with other things.
I’ve had bouts of awful (very severe) diarrhea, almost as if I have some kind of bug or poisoning…it’s very similar to how people experience excessive vomiting, only mine is coming out of the other end lol.
In addition, I personally have had a lot of nausea, headaches, stomach/abdominal pains, and extreme fatigue. I think, although they don’t explicitly state that these are contributory symptoms of morning sickness, since so many women experience them in their pregnancies…I feel they could be.
But again, specifically with the diarrhea…I’d totally say so. I’ve had it bad on and off, with no vomiting like you..and after seeing others suffering from this like I have been (I answered another question similar in topic to this)..I’m starting to realize that it must just be a part of the equation for an unlucky few of us.
And besides, it’s called "Morning SICKNESS", not Morning Vomiting, for a reason. Sickness is general feelings of unwellness in however it decided to manifest itself in a pregnant woman. I know it sucks to have to deal with it, but just know that almost every pregnant woman you may talk to or even see on the street…is probably experiencing something just as distressing (and maybe worse). It’s the small price we pay for adorable little babies!
Good Luck to you & feel better soon…
Yes that can absolutely be your body’s reaction to the pregnancy hormone; to have an upset tummy but no sickness. I never was sick but my tummy has been upset for no reason a couple of times.
It’s not morning sickness, but it’s something that I also experienced in the early stages of pregnancy. It’s gone now.
I’m 4.5 weeks with my 2nd and this is happening to me too. It happened with my first pregnancy too. Congrats:)
