Huge Colon Polyp Removal
This video is from a colonoscopy where a very large colon polyp was removed by Dr. Joseph Galati, located in Houston, Texas. This was the case of a 40 year old gentleman who presented with rectal bleeding, and assumed this was bleeding from hemorrhoids. On colonoscopy, it was discovered that there was a very large colon poly in the sigmoid colon, which was removed. It was not malignant. Colon cancer occurs in 101000 adults every year, and 40000 cases of rectal cancer yearly. There are 50000 deaths each year from colorectal cancer.
Why does the colon polyp have a short stalk and a large bulbous end?
