Bowel Disorder Archives

yesterday I posted a question, read it so you know what I’m talking about.

So when I got stuck in the dishwasher, the knives were facing up… They cut one of my legs and when I got out my mental disorder gave me the urge to cut my other leg in the exact same pattern. It gives me peace of mind. Well, my mom saw them and accused me of cutting; she has shut me up in my room with nothing that I could possibly hurt myself with… The situation was so depressing I tried to kill myself. It’s so unfair right? I do not cut. How do I tell my mom that I’m not cutting myself. She won’t even give me anymore twinkies because they block my bowels.

Don’t worry I disinfected my legs with the washing detergent.

I have posted before about my health problems, and am becoming quite concerned now. For 2 years, I have had ongoing migraines that are now occurring daily (I take Excedrin 2 – 3 times daily, mirgraine medication does not work, at all for me.). I have also had vertigo symptoms since Feb. 2007. I have blurred vision at times, (not in the same time as migraines) and a black dot that never seems to go away. Just 2 weeks ago, I began having tingling sensations and loss of feeling, or to the opposite I have pain where I feel like I pulled a muscle. in my legs and feet and arms and hands. I also have severe constipation (where at worst, I don’t have a bowel movement for over 2 weeks)… Finally, I have skin lesions on my arms and moles that have been changing (I go to the skin doctor (sorry, I cannot think of the real name for this). I am 22 years old, and up until this time–the worst thing I would get were sinus infections. I have 2 cochlear implants, and have had tinitis since I was a young child. I have already been diagnosed with Enlarged Vestibular Aqueduct Syndrome (not sure if this will help) as well. I have two small boys to keep up with, and this is really beginning to concern me. In my previous post, I had an IUD in place, and immediately had it removed and began Depo. shots. My vertigo did decrease, however the migraines have increased. I am going to quit smoking to eliminate any thoughts that this is why my symptoms are occurring (doctors are first to mention that). I am really just trying to pin point what could be a cause of all these sypmtoms-I am thinking along the lines of neurological disorders.

Thanks for any help that can be given, I go to the doctor on the 29th, and I would like to have an area for her to look into.
Does anyone have any medical advice? I appreciate the tests, I know I need the tests. I appreciate the herbal route, but quite frankly I want something that has been medically tested and proven to help. I do see the medication I have been prescribed as ‘band aids’ that have opened up additional problems, but does anyone have some good stuff? Thanks!

Okay, so I’m 22 in decent health I think. I dont have any diseases or disorders or anything so I think that’s good. I’m overweight sure but If I lose 15 pounds I’ll be healthy, so I don’t really see that as a risk factor as I’m not big at all only slightly chunky.

Anyway, I have no history in my family of colon cancer, I am not tired, I do not have pain anywhere just fullness or discomfort in my stomach area.

Now, I had blood appear twice but very VERY light blood on my stool and a little when I wiped.
I also had very thin but round stool. I literally mean skinny like a pencil. Now, I looked up pencil sized stool and blood in stool and it keeps saying thats colon cancer, but it says that 1% of people my age (22) get colon cancer and that less than 5% of people my age go get colonoscopy done.

Now, I have had pencil thin stool twice before (once about a year ago and once about 2 years ago). I had an xray done at the doctors the first time I had pencil thin stool and he said it showed that I had a LARGE mass of stool in the middle of my intestines and it was blocking me from going. I then took some meds for it and I had normal bowel movements ever since except this week, I did not go. BUT thats normal for me. Sometimes I get constipated and dont go for up to 6-7 days. I always had this my entire life. It’s nothing new. But this is the first time I discovered light blood.

I ate a lot this week and I also exercised too much after eating, so did that have something to do with this?

Please, what do you think? Do you think it’s just constipation or what?

I can NOT go to a doctor if I’ll just end up going regular in a few days (thats what happened the second time I had this). I also have to leave state in 3 days, so I really have absolutely no time for this. Do you think I should give it a week or should I just drop the trip and go? I literally UNDERSTAND how I can have this constipation. It makes sense to me because I literally ate the candy store last week and so constipation seemed inevitable.

Let me know what you think it is, thank you. You could save my life.

by an austrian monk called johannes friede this is what he said:When the great time will come, in which mankind will face its last, hard trial, it will be foreshadowed by striking changes in nature; the alteration between cold and heat will become more intensive, storms will have more catastrophic effects, earthquakes will destroy greater regions and the seas will overflow many lowlands. Not all of it will be the result of natural causes, but man will penetrate into the bowels of the earth and will reach into the clouds, gambling with its own existence. Before the powers of destruction will succeed in their design, the universe will be thrown into disorder, and the age of iron will plunge into nothingness. When the nights will be filled with more intensive cold and the day with heat, a new life will begin in nature. The heat means radiation from the earth, the cold the waning light of the sun. Only a few more years and you will become aware that sunlight has become perceptibly weaker. When even your artificial light will cease to give service, the great event of the firmament will be near

For the past week, i have been having diahrea or a loose stool every day. But it has only been once a day, in the mornings when i would normally move my bowels. Except today i have had it three times. I haven’t had a solid bm for nearly a week now. What gives? I have no other symptoms. I did get my period the day after these weird bm began, but now it’s been over for a day or two. It was my first period i’ve had in awhile though (i was recently in the hospital for my eating disorder and put on about 15lbs) What could it be? What should i do about it?

I really can’t afford to lose any weight. Am i losing a lot of the calories im eating because of this? Please help!

Last year I was sick a lot with abdominal problems and after school got out I found out that I have several food allergies. Now however, as school is fast approaching I am suffering from anxiety that is causing gastrointestinal upsets because I am worried about being sick again. I know it sounds dumb but I just can’t help getting so nervous. I am supposed to see a psychiatrist, but won’t be able to see her until a month after school starts. I have irritable bowels and being nervous makes me sick, I am afraid to go back to school with diarrhea and other undesirable symptoms and I don’t know what to do. Is there anything I can take at home until the psychiatrist could maybe subscribe me some kind of medicine. I also have social anxiety disorder which doesn’t help much….

My doctors are stumped as to what could be wrong with me. I am 30 and have type 2 diabetes, HBP, high cholesterol, and asthma. I also have depression/anxiety disorder and on meds for all of these things but docs have ruled out the meds as causing the symptoms I have been having. All blood tests (including thyroid), MRI, CT scan, EKG, and just last week have all come back normal. Sigh. Restless Leg Syndrome has also been ruled out. Took my sugar after one event and it was perfect — not diabetic seizures either, it seems. Docs have ruled out a seizures b/c people that have them are unaware whereas I am fully aware of what is going on but cannot stop these symptoms until my body “releases me.” There is no loss of bowels. One head injury my whole life, 8 or 9 yrs. old. I fell off a scooter and hit a guardrail head first, no helmet. Had a concussion, that’s all I remember. Anyway the symptoms occur ONLY at night time and wake me up from sleep; there is no pain involved. Events are random and last a few sec. to 1 min. at the most. Any ideas would be helpful? Thank you.

- sensations up my back, eyes blinking fast, lips blowing fast, head turning left and right slowly like a mechanical robot (know it sounds LOL). sometimes my feet/ankles will turn in circles same time as the other things & my hands will clap front to back a few times.

- If I am laying down — then my feet will not turn, instead my legs will shake. Now, I can “feel” all of this getting ready to happen but can’t stop it.

so….please help.
last test was normal was EEG.

I have never been sexually active in any form. I have had many tests to find out what’s wrong but they don’t know. Any opinions? I am having horrible vaginal pain, it feels like someone is stabbing me most the time. Other times it is just a dull ache. I am not pregnant, and I don’t have a vaginal infection of any kind. I have had two X-Rays, and an ultrasound. No cysts were found. I also get horrible pain in my pelvic area I feel like crying because its so raw and feels like I’m being cut with glass shards. This has been going on for many months. I also have rectal burning constipation/diarrea which they treated me with Irritable bowel syndrome, but meds seem to only cover up the problem not solve it. Anyone have any opinions or suggestions as to what this could be? I am 16 years old my periods only last 3 days instead of 5, the pain in my vaginal area is so bad if its not burning its aching, or its sore. I always feel the burning but it become intense during my menstrual cycle and the worst after my cycle then it dies down till my period comes again.

I know it sounds like I’m exaggerating but trust me this pain is not normal, I’ve been missing days of school were I can’t even functiuon because the pain is unbearable I’m trying really hard to make sense of this pain and I know they don’t see anything wrong but what I am going through is unbearable I can’t live like this, I am already on antidepressants months before so its not like I’m not being treated phycologically speaking

I’ve looked into endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, vulvodynia all my doctors refuse to diagnose me with any one of these chronic (unexplained) disorders

I’m fighting a silent battle here and even if I do have any one of those condition will it even help me or solve my problem or will I be in chronic pain for the rest of my life, will it be so bad that I won’t be able to hold a steady job and will be bedridden. I realize I sound crazy but months of chronic burning UNexplained pain can do that to a person.

I will make this as short as possible. I am a 26 yr old female, in good shape and eat well. Ive had my gallbladder and appendix out. In march I came down with shingles (horrible pain). Two months later I had it again (sick all the while in between with every passing illness). In june I had a horrible sinus infection thing (maybe flu), I made lobster for my husband while I was recovering and had an anaphylactic reaction to it. Went to the doc to get tested, and had anaphylaxis from that. I had recurrent reaction 4 hours later when the meds wore off, then again in walmart days later from no known allergen. They put me on steroids, which took 6 weeks to taper off of and I was so sick I couldnt hardly do anything the whole time. I have had shingles twice again since. Every three weeks I get sick as a dog. I have this recurring illness no one can explain. Here are my symptoms

-Swollen glands (esp on the right side, and my face swells on the right side when I sleep)
-Ringing in my right ear, which comes and goes
-Extreme fatigue, I am falling asleep sitting up when I slept great lastnight!
-Stress intolerance
-Tight lungs, I feel like I am having a constant mild asthma attack
-Wierd symptom, but the asthma attack thing and coughing happens worse just before every bowel movement.
-Joint pain, most especially wrists and knees. Much worse when I am tired.
-Muscle aches, mainly lower back and legs
-Random low grade fevers (99.0-99.6 and Im normally in the 97.’s)
-Panic attacks (which I have never had before all of this)
-Skin flushing
-Pain where my liver is, and it is very tender to palpation
-Chest pain, bilateral. Only prominent when all of my glands swell (esp inguinal glands which make it difficult to walk when they hurt so bad)

I currently have all of these, but I now also have developed this skin rash I have had for two weeks. It looks like measles or roseola, but is not either. My primary care doc doesnt know what it is.

Here are my labs
CBC, CMP are fine, all within limits
ANA neg x 3 checks
Urine HIAA normal, but chromagranin A 86, then recheck 61.
Rheumatoid factor of 11, normal is below 10. But most people don’t have it at all.
All other autoimmune labs are normal
Serum tryptase (for mast cell disorders) is normal
Halter monitor shows PAC’s and PVC’s, but I was cleared for cardiac
Lung function tests shows 9% improvement with meds, indicating bronchospasms
Labs are still out for lyme disease and chronic mono

My mom has Sjogren’s, which they said is a big possibility for me. But the rheumatologist just blew me off and told me to come back in a couple of years so my labs will be more indicative. Frustrating.

In between these spells, I feel about 90%. Not much really bothers me and I have tons of energy, as I have my whole life. But every couple of weeks I am convinced I am dying of something. I am miserable, and it is really effecting my life. Then it goes away and I am okay. Someone tell me they have been through this and survived!!!
By the way, the specialist I have been to include
my primary care doc
2 allergy specialist
an endocrinologist
a rheumatologist
a cardiologist
I am asking because they are stumped

anyone seen the commercials about P.A.D.? well, i have plenty of times and it sounds like I have those exact symptoms. I fear that I may have this disorder.

okay here it goes. I dont know exactly how long this problem has been going on with me, at least 2 years if I hazard to guess. the first thing I noticed was when I was at work in a restaurant one night. it was during a mad rush of business when suddenly I noticed a major pain in my left knee. The pain was bad enough to have me limping after resting. I didnt really think much of it, thought that maybe my left leg is just a little less worked-out than my right. For one, I am a righty. anyway, moving on, I later on discovered that I was always standing on my left foot and it fatigued very quickly after standing, or moving around, for at least an hour. Out of curiousity, I tested my left leg one day by doing squats on just one leg at a time. My right leg was fine, but my left leg tended to jump nervously, and give-out, as I bent down slightly and tried to balance myself. Furthermore, for the past 4 and a half years of doing manual labor I noticed that I have a heel spur in my left foot also! It has been noted that symptoms of PAD start in the leg or the brain and can maybe one day affect the heart also. I also have some problems, I think anyway, with the left side of my brain.

Sometimes I feel like I forget that I have a left hand. its like I have to touch it with my right hand to remind myself I still feel with my left. It never feels numb or anything like that, but it certainly feels as though its not there sometimes. I also play guitar and I am right-handed musician, so my left hand gets all the work out from playing. I even have a crooked smile, where my lips tend to stretch to my right side easier. My left eye dries out lots of times, especially when waking up in the morning, never my right eye. Back to working at the restaurant, as a counter-arguement I may just have a nerve damaged in my left leg. For one, I am about 5’4”, and I had to stretch and reach for plates. I always reached with my right arm and FULLY extended my left leg, tip-toed even, just to reach for anything. So, maybe I just hyper-extended my knee or damaged some muscle or a nerve(s).

I dont know whats wrong. Anybody a physical health teacher or a doctor on Yahoo who can help me here? I dont want to have a stroke or heart attack, I’m only 23 for God’s sake! I weigh about 140 – 150 pounds and I eat right most of the time. I do drink alcohol but I am not an alcoholic, although I do have alcoholic ancestors. And I must also mention that I am a Crohn’s patient (IBS – irrital bowels syndrome). I have tried jogging and running for awhile and that didnt solve any problems with my left leg. Although, i did notice that if I ran with my left foot on the road and my right foot just off to the side of the road my right foot grew tired first before my left, and vice versa. Even as of right now my left foot does feel some minor tingling or numbness. Please help me out if you can. Any advice will do.
