What should I do for my dogs abdominal pain?
My dog has sever abdomonal pain. He cannot use his back legs now and is not eating. You cannot even touch his stomach without him yelping. He has had very very small bowel movements the last two days hardly any at all and now none at all. When I go to pick him up he pees on the floor. We took to vet had an x-ray no bowel obstruction. Spine is fine. One vet says look like tumor in stomach the other vet said no its just his intestines. What do I do. He is on pain meds for now.
Is he eating or drinking anything? This is not a great situation and I do think you need to take the dog to a different vet.
The not using hind legs is a neurological issue – did they do a neuro exam?
Have the paid medications helped him at all?
Sorry, I can’t be of more help, I think your dog needs to see someone else.
this site offers some home remedies for pets. if you enter the symptoms it will suggest natural things you can do at home to ease your pet’s pain and discomfort. http://thepounce.com
hope that helps.
I would look for a specilist! We had to do this for a skin issue that kept coming back! It was costly but we found the problem and fixed it! Well worth the money. And as for home remodies as above I am all for them but that is not substitude for finding the problem. That is really where you need to start. Good luck and I hope it all works out
I think maybe seek the advice of one more veterinarian, then perhaps go back to your regular vet and just say "here is what other opinions I have" and in my opinion if this is still continuing then demand they look again, your dog could be in pain just because they haven’t checked properly.
Also, our cat got his tail run over, which causes him to lose control of his bladder, I know its different to a dog but have u checked him for any injuries that might not be so visible?
Did the vets not give you any advice or recommend anything?
Did you take him to your regular vet or was it an emergency animal hospital?
There’s not much I can recommend other than trying to keep him comfortable and highly recommend having a second opinion. If there’s nothing they can do and the pet is in that much pain, I hate to say it, but the best thing for your pet may be to put him down. I hope it doesn’t have to come to that.
I’d have him seen at an emergency hospital if you haven’t already. Hopefully, they can determine the cause of his pain and help ease it.
Good luck!
