I've been to the dr. 3+ times, all said i was constipated, is it normal to have upper abdominal pain alot?
im able to go atleast once a day, today i started taking metamucil, ive tried enema’s only done it 3 times, ive tried laxatives, ive changed my diet, im getting results, but i still have abdominal cramping, and some chest pain. could the stool be impacted?
Get a prescription for MIRALAX. It is sold over the counter, but it’s really expensive that way. It’s like Metamaucil, but for people like you. MUCH better.
Drink LOTS of water. WALK!! Take a brisk walk every day. Try to work up to 45 minutes or more. Or you can use a treadmill. Eat lost of fruits and veggies and coleslaw. An apple every day. Even 2 or 3. Get a hi-fiber cereal. Kashi Go Lean has 10 grams of fiber. Super WalMarts have it. Also Target and Trader Joe’s (if you’re lucky enough to have that store. They also have "Good Friends," which has 12 grams of fiber. Have a big bowl every morning. If you don’t drink milk, have water on the side. You can take a generic stool softener (ducosate sodium) every day. Perfectly safe. You might not need that though.
Did you ask the doctor if the stool could be impacted? I don’t think so, but I can’t examine you! If you still have the cramping and chest pain in the next few days, go back to the doctor! Or get a second opinion. It could be IBS. (Irritable Bowel Syndrome.) Did anyone mention that?? That’s what it really sounds like to me. But I can’t examine you, right?
I hope something I said helps somehow. Your situation sounds miserable. You WILL get better. I know it!! Good luck, hon.
An abdominal xray will tell if you are impacted or constipated. With all the different things you have been doing it certainly sounds like it will take a little time to get things back to normal…where you need nothing to have a bowel movement. And some people don’t go EVERY day and are normal. You need to find out YOUR normal. Eating a balanced diet with fiber and fresh fruits and veggies is the trick. It can’t happen over night. Can you eat raisin bran for breakfast with some milk? OR mini shredded wheats with some kind of taste on them, honey and cinnamon is good….but you need fiber and to drink water every day to become regular, It takes a while to get regular. Once you do tho, keep on doing whatever it is that works for you.
Suggest you do a knee chest position for about 10-15 minutes. If you have a ptosed transverse colon, this will allow gravity to allow it to return to its normal position.. A sagging or ptosis of the transverse colon will entrap flatus. Stretching of the colon does create pain. Sometimes quite severe.
Hope this is a simple answer for your dilemma..The chest pain should not be related to this problem.
Hoping your doctor ruled out pancreatic or gall bladder problem.
it is best for u to get an x-ray done i also has been have chest pain and pain on the upper right side of my tummy my doc say it could be an ulcer/ gallstones/liver problem I’m now waiting to see a specialist to get it checked out i think u should also see a specialist to get it check too hope u will get well soon
